What We're Up To

Now spring is in the air its time to dust down your glad rags and start thinking about long summer days, afternoon teas and picnics galore.

Here at Bristol Vintage the phone has been ringing with lovely wedding bookings and summer parties and we’re really in the mood to start holding our own events the first of which is our Sunday afternoon Pop up Tea.

Mark Taylor, freelance journalist for the Bristol Evening Post and Fork Magazine came to interview us last week about the tea, which will be featured in Thursday 4th March edition. We also got an email from Clifton Life Magazine who will be featuring us under their green business section next month, which was really exciting

Kate's Kitchen and Lahloo Teas

We're making some wonderful friends along the way, and can recommend Kate's Kitchen in Bristol for catering.

www.kateskitchenbristol.co.uk

Kate is lovely and specialises in seasonal quality ingredients and local produce. We're really excited to be working with her in the future on some of our events.

We met another lovely Kate from Lahloo teas and are having fun plotting ideas for the future. We have to say her tea’s taste lush!

"Pop-Up" Sunday High Teas

Organisation for our first pop up tea is well under way. The event will take place at the Boathouse Scout Hut, by the Ostrich pub in Bristol on Sunday 14th March at 2.30 – 5.30pm.

Expect homemade scones, fairy cakes (thanks to the lovely chef Justine Blore) sandwiches with Herberts bread, the finest of tea from Lahloo tea and prosecco from our babycham glasses all served with a touch of glamour in our vintage crockery and a little dose of nostalgia mixed in.

Halswell House

We are delighted to be on the list of recommended suppliers for Halswell House. This is a fantastic company who own a selection of amazing properties which you can hire out for weddings, parties and as luxury holiday homes.

The Tweed Run

Ladies. Gentlemen. We’re very pleased to announce that Bristol Vintage will be supporting the second edition of the London Tweed Run, on 10 April 2010.

This ride is jolly good fun, and we’re pleased to see it back on the streets of London again this year.

The Tweed Run will depart from the heart of London at midday striking a leisurely pace. The ride is 14 miles long and the route will weave past Trafalgar Square, Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, St Paul’s Cathedral. Stopping for a civilized tea break with the finest Bristol Vintage crockery in the park halfway through.

The Tweed Run will benefit Bikes4Africa which helps supply bikes to children in remote areas so they can get to school more easily.
